Mario 64 meets Mario Land meets Yoshi's Island!
Yoshi's Odyssey is a Yoshi-centric fan game being made in Super Mario Bros. X2. It stars, of course, Yoshi, as he must collect stars from various levels to unlock hub world doors and defeat bosses. There's really no story, because who needs one in a 2D Mario platformer!?
How is it like Mario 64?
Players venture around a hub area and enter individual levels where they must obtain a star at the end. Certain areas in the hub world are off-limits until a certain number of stars are acquired.
How is it like Mario Land?
The game uses lots of Mario Land enemies and music! I adore Mario Land, and I wanted to give it some representation.
How is it like Yoshi's Island?
I mean, come on, just look at it!
With each level having one star each, I'm hoping to have at least 50 stars in total. That means 50 levels! When will I finish this? Who knows!
