Final Fantasy Provenance - Current State of the Intro


I barely did any game dev work between early August and sometime last week for a multitude of reasons, but mostly just because other things were holding my interest more. The game dev bug returned a few days ago, and I've been filling out more parts of this game's intro in Caladon. Soon I should be able to start the first dungeon, which I've been wanting to do for... half a year now? 

Anyway, contents of the video:

I did have the battle against the bounty (Dunestalker) in the video originally, but it died in one hit because I forgot that I had lowered how much HP it had for testing purposes. It's basically a mini-boss that shifts to three different forms and will require at least two party members to defeat with any semblance of ease.

Also, I took out all of the old portraits that were holdovers from a previous cancelled project and have replaced them entirely with AI generated portraits that are mostly based on real life celebrities. Can you tell who I told the AI generator to base Layla's portrait on? 

Anyway, more progress next week hopefully!
