Cast of Characters


Okay, this isn’t really a traditional cast of characters, but rather the jobs that you’ll be playing throughout the game. Since you will be choosing your four characters at the beginning complete with their jobs and names, in a way they will be YOUR own characters!

The following are the twelve jobs selectable in Final Fantasy: Memories of Bygone Days.


Description: The berserker is a physically powerful warrior who goes berserk at the sight of battle! These character is always uncontrollable, automatically attacking with all their might each and every turn. While you cannot control the berserker, you can depend on them to always inflict ample damage.
Armor Type: Heavy
Command: Auto-Battle
Weapon: Axe, Hammer


Description: The black mage, while physically frail and not a reliable attacker, is a master of powerful magic. They can devastate enemies with elemental spells such as Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder. They can also acquire non-elemental damaging magic such as Meteor as well as status inflicting spells like Poison or Silence.
Armor Type: Light
Command: Black Magic
Weapon: Knife, Staff


Description: While an adequate fighter capable of holding her own with knives and swords, the blue mage is able to learn abilities from monsters and use them in battle. When a monster drops a “soul” item (ie. Goblin Soul), the blue mage may use this ability to learn the monster’s ability. The blue mage can also equip any type of armor, making her extremely versatile.

Weapon: Knife, Sword


Description: The chemist is a master of all things alchemical. They are able to reap extra benefits out of restorative items when using them in battle, and can also use their alchemy abilities to consume items to perform a wide array of functions in battle. When the chemist is not able to make use of their improved use of items, they can also serve as an emergency damage dealer as well.

Weapon: Hammer, Knife


Description: The dragoon is a swift and physically imposing dragon warrior. While they lack an expansive skillset of abilities to use in battle, they are able to routinely jump into the air to avoid incoming damage while coming down upon enemies and inflicting high amounts of damage with their spears.
Armor Type: Heavy
Command: Jump
Weapon: Spear


Description: The most well-rounded of the twelve jobs, the fighter does not necessarily excel in any specific stat, but instead possesses slightly above stats across the board. They can also use powerful magic sword abilities when struck with specific elements, and can also learn debilitating techniques such as Armor Break to cripple foes.
Armor Type: Heavy
Command: Sword
Weapon: Sword


Description: The gambler likes to live recklessly and wildly, leaving their fate up to Lady Luck. Because of this, their abilities and attacks rely on their luck stat rather than their strength. The gambler utilizes abilities that are typically high risk/high reward, such as critical attacks that seldom miss. The gambler is a risky character, but learning to to utilize her and get the most out of her can make her one of the deadliest of the party members.

Description: The barehanded monk, master of martial arts, has no need for weapons and instead opts to fight with her fists. The monk can unleash a variety of Blitz abilities, most of which bypass various defenses. Additionally, their innate geomancy abilities grant them unique abilities depending on the current terrain.

Command: Blitz
Weapon: N/A


Description: The agile ninja, with their high speed, is able to act rapidly and evade many enemy attacks. They are also able to counterattack physical attacks that come their way without the need for equipment that would normally grant the ability to do so. The ninja also harnesses powerful ninjutsu abilities that perform a variety of elemental damage unavailable to other jobs such as earth, shadow, and wind.

Weapon: Ninja Sword


Description: The paladin is the ultimate shock trooper, possessing high defense and hit points to soak up repeated enemy assaults. They are also, in their own right, admirable warriors who can dish out high damage when needed. Additionally, paladins are capable of casting white magic - though they are not able to learn the strongest white magic spells. Being able to absorb heaps of damage while being able to mend wounds of their allies makes the paladin a very dependable and reliable party member.

Command: White Magic
Weapon: Hammer, Sword


Description: The thief is a master pickpocket, and by using their Steal command, can snatch items from unsuspecting enemies. While only being able to wield knives and having attack power lower than other warriors such as the dragoon or paladin, the thief possesses high speed and can be depended upon to act before almost anyone else every turn, ally and enemy alike. This innate hasty speed means they can also act as a field medic, throwing out necessary healing items to party members before enemies can even take their turns.

Description: The white mage is the frailest and weakest of the twelve jobs, but she possesses powerful white magic capable of keeping the party on their toes and fully in the fight if she is protected and kept safe from harm. Additionally, the white mage can also learn powerful holy elemental magic that is capable of devastating evil entities such as demons and undead.

Weapon: Hammer, Rod
